New Year's Eve shows
New Year's Eve is the one night when everybody looks up at the same second. Laser Saga designs the countdown and the midnight moment for cities, hotels, beach clubs and stages across the GCC, with sky lasers, laser countdowns, cold sparks, CO2, confetti, water screens and projection mapping. With fireworks or without them, the clock hits zero and the show lands.

Designing the midnight moment
Every New Year's Eve show is really about ten seconds. The crowd counts down, the clock hits zero and everything has to happen at once. We build the night around that moment: a slow build in the last minutes, a countdown everyone can read, and a release at midnight that people film and share.
Ideas for the countdown
- Numbers drawn in laser in the sky, on a facade or on a water screen, then the new year and your logo.
- Sky beams that open over the venue at midnight, visible from the whole beach or skyline. See outdoor laser shows.
- Cold sparks, CO2 jets and confetti on the zero, right where the guests are standing.
- Flames on the first drop after midnight, when the DJ takes over.
- Projection mapping that turns the hotel or the tower into the clock itself.
With or without fireworks
Fireworks and lasers work beautifully together, and we have run New Year's Eve shows alongside fireworks partners on shared timecode. But permits, wind and venue rules can take fireworks away at the last minute. We can programme a firework-free version of the same show, so the countdown still lands. See alternatives to fireworks.
Where we do it
City celebrations and corniches, hotels and resorts, beach clubs and rooftops, malls, stadiums and concert stages, desert camps and private villas. We have lit New Year's Eve on the Abu Dhabi Corniche, at the Zayed Festival and on the stage for Armin van Buuren in Dubai.
When to start
December fills up fast, for equipment and for crews. For outdoor shows with sky beams, allow time for aviation and venue approvals. If you are reading this in November, talk to us today.
How we run it
Site visit, storyboard of the last minutes and the first minutes of the year, music edit, 3D preview, approvals, install the day before, rehearsal after dark, then a show locked to the clock. One technical lead from our team stays with your producer all night.
Can you do a countdown in laser?
Yes. Lasers can draw numbers, the new year and your logo in the sky, on a building or on a water screen, timed to the second with the music and the clock.
Can the show work without fireworks?
Yes. We design New Year's Eve shows that stand on their own with lasers, cold sparks, flames, CO2, confetti, water and video. If fireworks are in the plan, we can programme a firework-free version on the same timeline as a back-up.
When should we book?
As early as you can. The last weeks of December are the busiest of the year for show equipment and crews, and outdoor shows also need time for approvals.
Do you do hotels, beach clubs and private parties?
Yes, from a rooftop or a hotel lawn to a corniche or a stadium. The rig is sized to the space and the audience.
Do you work in Saudi Arabia and across the GCC?
Yes, from our bases in Dubai and Saudi Arabia, across the GCC and beyond.
