Atmosphere is the effect people notice least and miss most. Haze is what turns a laser into a beam; low fog is what makes a first dance look like it is happening on a cloud. Laser Saga is the official Eurosmoke distributor in the Middle East and runs hazers and fog machines from Eurosmoke, Look Solutions, MDG and Smoke Factory, plus Showven Creeper low-fog units.
Also called: low lying fog, dancing on the clouds, dry ice effect, heavy fog, hazer, haze machine, smoke machine, fog machine
Haze is a fine, almost invisible mist that hangs evenly in the air so light beams become visible. Smoke (or fog) is thicker and comes in visible clouds for drama. Low fog is chilled so it stays close to the floor and spreads like a carpet, without rising into the room. For a full explanation see haze vs fog.

Haze: whenever lasers or moving lights should show beams, from galas to concerts. Smoke: stage entrances, reveals and theatre moments. Low fog: first dances, walk-ins, stage floors and car reveals, where you want guests' feet in a cloud but faces clear.
Indoors in almost any venue that agrees to it; outdoors haze is affected by wind, so we place machines upwind and use more output. Low fog works best on flat floors with few draughts. Venues with very sensitive smoke detection need to be involved early.
We use water- or glycol-based fluids designed for events and keep output to what the room needs. Fire alarm systems may need isolation during the show, which only the venue can authorise. Floors can become slippery with heavy low fog, so we keep it off stairs and walkways.

Low fog: Showven Creeper AQ Mini and Creeper AQ Plus. Haze: Eurosmoke FZ-1000, Look Solutions Unique hazer, MDG ATMe and Smoke Factory Tour Hazer II. Smoke: Eurosmoke and MDG smoke machines, with DMX fans to direct output. Fluids: Look, MDG, Smoke Factory and Showven.
Too little haze and lasers look like dots; too much and guests can't see the stage and photos turn grey. We set levels during rehearsal, then adjust live as doors open and air conditioning changes the room.
We agree levels with the venue, place machines out of sight, pre-haze before doors if needed, and control output from the lighting or laser desk so it builds and clears on cue.
It can. Most venues isolate certain detectors during the event; we coordinate with their engineering team.
It gives a similar effect. Modern low-fog machines like the Showven Creeper chill fog fluid instead of using dry ice, which is easier to run.
Quality haze fluids leave very little residue when used at normal levels.
