Every spring the racing world turns its eyes to Bahrain, and every night of the Bahrain Grand Prix one building rises above the paddock: the VIP tower. Working with Showtech Bahrain, we turned its rooftop into a beacon.
We stacked high-power KVANT RGB lasers on the very top of the tower, right beside the flag, and fanned beams out across the desert sky. From the Paddock Club, the grandstands and the fan zone, the tower looked crowned in light, and the beams carried for kilometres beyond the circuit.
A race weekend doesn't wait for anyone. The rig went up around a live Formula 1 schedule and ran every night of the event. The circuit management loved it, and we came back to crown the tower several years in a row, starting in 2018.
It was also the start of something bigger. Showtech Bahrain has become a long-term partner of Laser Saga, and together we've delivered F1 and many more shows since.
